Physician, Public Speaker, and Coach in United States

Meet Rhonda Mattox, MD. She is America's Go-to Psychiatrist, REJOICE 103.3 & 105.5'sImpACT Zoneradio host and the new host of BlackDoctor.org'sI'm Not Crazy But . . .Her medical expertise and wise counsel have been featured in popular media like Money, Forbes, Huff Post, New York Times, and Newsweek as well as respected academic journals. She has served as a medical media consultant to Hollywood's writers and producers as well as policy advisor to Capitol Hill's elite, including United States former Dean of the House of Representatives and longest serving member John Dingell Jr (who is credited with authoring the House version of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act).

I’m Dr. Rhonda, a physician speaker and President of Arkansas Medical, Dental, and Pharmaceutical Association (AMDPA). As a psychiatrist, my priority has been to reduce stigma and increase access to mental health care. It was an honor to be trusted to serve as the health policy advisor of United States House of Representative (US HOR) John Dingell Jr. (MI) during the roll out of the Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act. That was a monumental moment in our nation's history when Americans in need of mental health and substance abuse treatment were finally guaranteed access to these essential benefits in their health plans.

I have been at the forefront of fighting for policy change to increase access to healthcare even before I was a physician with access to quality health care for myself. I have led the call for increasing access to health care since medical school while serving as the Region III Director of the Student National Medical Association to my tenure as the Medical Director of the Arkansas Minority Health Commission leading Arkansans. And I'm proud to be elected to lead the Arkansas Medical, Dental, & Pharmaceutical Association (AMDPA) now.

When communities of color were hit hard by COVID, I knew it was critical for a trusted pillar in the community to deliver timely medical information they could trust. The relationships I have established in the community and radio serving as the Executive Producer and Host of Take 5 with the Physician and co-host of Broadway Joe's Ask the Doc have made it possible for me to do that.

For medical information you can trust, tune in. Invited experts share their medical expertise and community resources with Dr. Mattox weekly.

Former Vice President of Little Rock Chamber of Commerce
Dr. Mattox helped me find my message and my mojo. After I was offered a paid speaking opportunity, I was stumped. I didn't know what to charge. I spoke with her for 15 minutes. She helped me craft my offer. I made more in that 1 speech than I had made speaking with that one contract than I had in the previous five years! Cherry on top: She helped me transition their offer from a one time offer to a multi-speaking offer with sale of products.. She paid for herself! Worth every cent!
Chief Executive Officer New Professional Speaker
Dr. Mattox served as the moderator for the UAMS Translational Research Institute’s hosting of Our Community, Our Health on Women’s Heart Health. The evening was a huge success. Her ability to go with the flow and extend segments when needed was great. Our partner at the University of Florida commented that their audience was really engaged in the presentation. He specially stated that there were a lot of laughs and that the presentation felt really conversational.
